Hydrogen's Societal Value - Benefits for Mankind
THURSDAY, MARCH 4 AT 1:00AM PT. Prof. Dr. Katsuhiko Hirose will report from the FC Expo Tokyo 2021 in the beginning. He will then move on to the topic "How can we move from current fossil based economy to a sustainable (Hydrogen) society?".
Renewable energy and hydrogen will play an important role but current economy is based on the very simple way to evaluate the sum of monetary benefits based on the thermal vale of energy.
Societal value is differentiated by society and there are no simple formula to evaluate. However we need to build up and develop the proper methodologies.
Prof. Dr. Hirose has been struggling to bring the environmentally friendly technologies into the society such as Hybrid and FCVs for years by trying through the many attempts such as Hydrogen Council's reports.
He will talk about his experiences. He says: "I hope my experiences will help the audience to think deeper and to develop the methodologies to evaluate the societal benefit of hydrogen into their own economy or develop the message to your policy makers to build policies."
Sustainability is not just the sustainability of energy nor environment. Most important aspect of sustainability is life sustainability.
Life is the combination of environment and economy.
During the webinar Prof. Dr. Hirose would like to discuss the development of basic ideas on building the societal value into the real-world economies.
We will discuss the Hydrogen Value as
1. Renewable Energy Reservoir and "Milk-Cheese-Conversion", Thermal Value and Economic value
2. Zero emission power source for the rotational turbine for whole grid systems.
3. Hydrogen can be part of a basic structure of carbon neutral Energy/Social system to support both energy system and economy.
4. Material is necessary.
Thus Hydrogen system can be more basic infrastructure for future human being, material to build carbon neutral future sustainable society than just electricity.
